Madeline Brice
Biography
Madeline Brice (b. 1992) is a Kansas City, Missouri based visual artist. She earned both her BFA in Painting (2015) and a BA in Art History (2018) from Missouri State University. This year she was featured in New American Paintings, No. 173, Midwest Issue. In 2024, she had her first east coast solo exhibition, Saying Sorry Won't Save You, with Blah Blah Gallery in Philadelphia, PA. She was selected to attend The Moosey Residency, a month-long intensive artist residency based in Norwich, UK; Ranch Residency, a two week escape in the foothills of Carson National Forest; as well as the Interurban Arthouse Residency, a year-long studio residency based in Kansas City, MO. In 2023 she was a selected recipient of the Inspiration Grant from ArtsKC and the Lighton International Exchange Program Award. Additionally, she was a finalist for the 2023 Visual Artist Award with Charlotte Street Foundation. In 2021, she was featured in Sotheby's Institutes' Made in Bed magazine as an emerging artist to know. And in 2020, she was a recipient of a Charlotte Street Foundation Rocket Grant.
She is both a published and exhibiting artist having shown nationally in solo and juried group exhibitions.
